DEACONS MINISTRY

Diakonos or servants were chosen to tend to the needs of the growing disciples of Christ. Our Deacons assist the Pastor in Baptism, Communion and Member Visitation and Membership Concerns. Our Deacons see themselves as extensions of the Pastor who sees himself as an extension of Christ.

DEACONESS MINISTRY

Diakonos or servant who assists the Deacons in performing their spiritual service to the congregation. Being the same word in Greek for Deacons, they assist in preparation for Holy Communion and Baptism, Visitations to the Sick and Shut-ins, Membership Concerns, etc.

USHER MINISTRY

Ushers give the first impression of the church to visitors. The primary responsibility of an usher is to greet churchgoers as they arrive at the church and again at the worship service. They also escort guests to their seats, if assistance is needed. Bulletins are usually handed out by ushers at the doors of the church sanctuary.

TRUSTEES MINISTRY

Church trustees is oversee the financial aspects of operating the church. Trustees also act as liaisons between the members of the church congregation and the church leaders, representing and articulating the congregation's interests.

TRANSPORTATION MINISTRY

The Transportation Ministry provides service for individuals who would not otherwise be able to attend Sunday worship services or Bible studies. To schedule pickup, contact the church office at 814-459-7003 by 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Tuesday for Wednesday night Bible Study or by 2:00 p.m. Friday for Sunday services. Ministry volunteers also frequently provide transportation for church and choir members for other activities away from the church, such as out-of town speaking engagements the Pastor has

MISSIONARY MINISTRY

Missionaries often dedicate their entire lives traveling the globe or their local communities in response to those in need. Their sole purpose is to spread the word of God and provide those basic needs to people who have nothing. They get paid very little in money, but find plenty of rewards through their service to God and the people that they have helped.

WEEKLY MINISTRIES

CHOIR  PRACTICE

Participating in divine worship services as a choir member is a sacred responsibility, not to be taken lightly. Choir members, as other church musicians, offer their God-given talents to the church for a variety of reasons. For most, it is a part of their stewardship – the giving of their “time and talents.” For others, it is something that is enjoyed and for still others, it is a social outlet.

BIBLE STUDY

So what exactly is Bible study? Bible study is simply the analysis of the Bible. The type of analysis really depends on the reader and his/her purpose for studying the Bible. A reader may choose the Bible as a resource, because it is a book with a variety of genres and purposes. It is also one of the most read books in history.

PRAYER MINISTRY

In Family Ministry, families are invited to glorify God through a time of communal prayer and worship. Family Ministry also includes small group time that creates a place for families to grow spiritually through Biblical learning and caring relationships.
